The ADJD Attends a Workshop for Judges from Arab Countries in Cooperation with the National Judges College of China

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) took part in a workshop organised for judges from Arab countries in cooperation with the National Judges College (NJC) of China and the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO) of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, as part of the ongoing steps to implement the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Presidential Court and Chairman of the Judicial Department, to strengthen the presence of the ADJD in the international judicial arena and to work with international partners to acquire best judicial practices and integrate the same into the local judicial systems after adapting them to local realities.
The workshop, held remotely via video conferencing technology with the participation of a number of members of the judiciary and legal experts, covered a number of key topics, such as the judicial organisation of Chinese courts, the criminal justice system, the creation of smart and specialised courts and Chinese civil law, highlighting the role of law in supporting investments. A virtual tour of the Supreme People's Court and China's smart courts and other training facilities was also conducted during the workshop.
As part of the Judicial Department's participation, judge Ghariba Al Khyeli from Al Ain Court of First Instance presented a working paper on the judicial system in the UAE, in which she explained the nature of the federal and local courts system, their types and competencies, as well as the laws that govern and regulate the judiciary and assure its independence, so as to achieve justice and preserve rights through an advanced judicial system.
Judge Al Khyeli also exposed the experience of the Judicial Department in applying the remote litigation system, by leveraging modern technologies to provide intelligent and innovative legal and judicial services, and relying on ad hoc judicial chambers, given their important role in developing the experience of specialised judges, resulting in quality and consistent judicial decisions and timely disposition of cases
