The ADJA Launches the Basic Training Programme for Legal Researchers

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Academy (ADJA) has started implementing the basic training programme for legal researchers, "Certified Government Legal Consultant", which has been specifically tailored for researchers and bachelor degree holder employees working in government agencies, as well as for fresh graduates to improve their chances of finding a position, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi School of Government (ADSG), as part of its contribution to the qualification of human capital in line with the government's plans for excellence in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The launch of the training programme comes in implementation of the partnership agreement signed between the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) and the ADSG, to cooperate in the field of legal and judicial training, in accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Judicial Department to strengthen partnership with various parties to support the concept of integrated government in a way that contributes to the achievement of sustainable development in all fields.

The training programme prepared for the first batch has been initiated with the participation of 25 trainees, including 9 women, from a number of government agencies, and will run for six months via the Abu Dhabi Judicial Academy's platform for distance learning and training, to provide participants with the cognitive background and behavioural skills necessary to perform the function of a legal researcher, whether as a lawyer specialising in government matters or as a legal consultant for government and private agencies, enabling them to provide quality services and perform their legal tasks in an efficient and effective manner

The programme focuses on a number of key topics, including general legal basics for researchers, the organisation of the legal professions for government lawyers and other direct and indirect court officers enrolled in the programme, the specialised sectoral legislation, administrative science and technology and legal English and Arabic language skills.

It also includes 25 training courses on federal and local laws and legislation and their practical applications, methods of and approaches to legal interpretation, advocacy and presentation skills, legal and judicial drafting, drafting initiatory pleadings, memos and requests, advanced legal and judicial drafting, advanced legal and judicial drafting, and the development of the legal profession, contract drafting, legislation, regulations, administrative decisions and legal consultancy, procedures for bringing legal action, notification and case preparation, most commonly used judicial procedures, application of the rules of public and private international law in the local context, skillful use of technology, modern programmes and of AI applications in legal and judicial work.
